The Union Public Service Commission will hold the Geologists’ Examination, 2010 commencing from 04th December, 2010 for recruitment to the posts of Geologist, Group ‘A’ in the Geological Survey of India and Jr. Hydrogeologist (Scientist ‘B’), Group ‘A’ and Asst. Hydrogeologist, Gr. ‘B’ in the Central Ground Water Board. The examination will be held at various centres across the country.




CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY :
(a) Age limits:
Candidates must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 yearson 1st January, 2010.
The upper age limit is relaxable for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/ Other Backward Classes/ Physically Handicapped and certain other categories of candidates to the extent specified in the Notice published in the Employment News/Rozgar Samachar dated 191h June, 2010.
(b) Educational Qualifications:
A candidate must hold (i) Master’s Degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Marine Geology; or (ii) Master’s Degree in Mineral Exploration (for posts in Geological Survey of India only), or (iii) Master’s Degree in Hydrogeology (for posts in Central Ground Water Board only) from a recognised University; or (iv) Diploma of Associateship in Applied Geology of the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad.
(c) Physical Standards:
Candidates must be physically fit according to the Regulations given in Appendix-II of Rules for the Geologist’s Examination, 2010 published in the Gazette of India dated 191h June, 2010.
FEE :
(a) Candidates applying Offline (through Common Application Form) are required to pay a fee of Rs.100/- (Rupees One Hundred only) through Central Recruitment Fee Stamp only.
(b) Candidates applying Online are required to pay a reduced fee of RS.50/- (Rupees Fifty only) either by remitting the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of SBI or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card.
(c) All Female candidates/SC/ST/Physically Handicapped candidates are exempted from payment of Fee. (OBC candidates are required to pay full fee).


LAST DATE:
• All offline applications must reach the “Secretary, Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi -110069″ either by hand or by Post/Speed Post or by Courier, on or before the 19th July, 2010.
