Civil Services Examination 2010

UPS will hold the Civil Servises (Preliminary) Examination , 2010 on 21.05.2010 for recruitment to the Indian Administrative Aervice , Indian Foreign Service , Indian Police Service and certaion other Group "A" and Group "B" Central Services / Posts . The exam will be held at various centres across the country.

Eligibility Conditions

Age Limits : 21 to 30 years as on 01.08.2010 (Relaxable as per rules)

Educational Qualification :Degree of a recognized university or an equivalent qualification

Physical Standards : Candidates must be physically fit according to the Regulations given in the Appendix-III of Rules for the Civil Services Examination , 2010 published in the Gazette of India Extraordinary dated 02.01.2010

Number of Attempts : The maximum no of attempts permissible to different categories of aspirants , who areotherwise eligible , will be as follows.

1. General Category - 04

2. P.H. Candidates belonging to General Category - 07

3. Other Backward Classes - 07

4. SC / ST - No Limit.

Application Fee:Rs. 50/- payable in form of Central Rectt. Fee Stamps only to be fixed on application form. No fee for Female / SC/ST / Physically handicapped .

Application Form : : The candidates must apply in the Common Application Form devised by the Commission for its examination which can be purchased from the designated Head Post Offices / Post Offices (specified in Appendix-III of the Notice published in Employment News / Rozgar Samachar ) throughout the country against cash payment of Rs. 20/- . Each such form can be used only for one exam.

Qualification : (i) Second Class Master’s degree in Archaeology or in Ancient Indian History and Culture with Archaeology as a special subject or in Sanskrit (Gr.-I) or equivalent; (ii) Sanskrit or Pali as one of the subjects in the Bachelor’s degree course; (iii) Five year’s practical experience in excavation and exploration work; (iv) Fair ideas of conservation and substantial knowledge of topography, preferably with some research work. Desirable : First Class Honours degree in Archaeology or Ancient Indian and World History or Sanskrit or an oriental language.

2. Police Prosecutor, Kolkata Under Home(Police) Department : 13 Posts

Pay Scale : Rs.9,000/- - Rs. 40,500/- plus Grade Pay Rs.5,400/-

Age : 40 years on 01.01.2009 , relaxable for specially qualified and experienced candidates.

Qualification : (i) Graduate in Law; (ii) At least three years’ practice in Criminal Court or Criminal Side of the Bar.
