Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), a joint venture company with equity participation from Govt. of India and Govt. of National Capital Territory of Delhi has been entrusted with the responsibility of implementation of the rail based Mass Rapid Transit System for Delhi & NCR.

The candidates having higher qualification than that of minimum eligible qualification for various post codes may keep it in mind while applying for these posts that the job profile for all the above-advertised posts requires the qualification as stated against each category of post.
Candidates must have ITI (NCVT/SCVT) in specific trades only to be eligible for the post of Maintainer (Post Code-10).
In Post Code-11 only, PH candidates are eligible to apply. In other posts PH candidates are not eligible.
Candidates can apply for more than one post as per their qualifications. However, they must note that the written test for post codes 01, 02 & 03 may be held on one single day, written test for post codes 04,05,06,07 & 09 may be held on one single day and written test for post codes 08, 10 & 11 may be held on one single day. As such candidates applying for more than one post must keep this combination in mind.

Qualification: - As prescribed above. Candidates who possess the eligible qualification at the time of applying for the posts may only apply (Attach the copy of the same with the application). Candidates must possess the proof of passing the required qualification by the stipulated date i.e. 23.08.2010. At the time of Interview/Psycho Test/Skill Test, they would be required to produce the proof of passing the exam by 23.08.2010, failing which they will not be allowed to appear in Interview/psycho test. 3 years Graduation (with minimum % as the case may be), is a must for the candidates applying for post codes 03, 08, 09 & 11. Other Graduate Level Degrees or higher qualification will not be taken into account while determining the eligibility criteria for these posts.
*** Eligibility Criteria for Stores Assistant, Post Code(11) : -
(a) Mandatory
1. Should have experience in purchase (Tendering, composing offers and placing of purchase orders) of not less than 3 years.
2. Should have 3 years experience in Imports (Opening & Operating of Letters of Credit, Custom Clearance etc.).
3. Proficiency in computers with good working knowledge/Skill of MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Internet & Typing.
(b) Desirable: -
1. Should have working experience of not less than 3 years on Material Management Module of SAP-R3.
2. Knowledge of sources of supply of Railways Materials shall be preferred.
Reservation for Persons with Disability (PWD) :
The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, vide their notification, dated 22.6.2007 published in Extra ordinary Gazette of India has granted the exemption for all technical post which involves requirement of public safety from the purview of Section 33 of the Persons with Disability Act, 1995. As such, reservation for requisite number of PH candidate against non-technical post is provided in post code 11. This was advertised earlier, but the vacancies remained unfilled.
Candidates with following disabilities are eligible to apply for this post of Store Assistant, as per the definitions given in the above Act :
a. Locomotor Disability
Only such persons would be eligible for reservation in services/posts who suffer from not less than 40% of relevant disability. A person who wants to avail the benefit of reservation will have to submit a Disability Certificate issued by Medical Board duly constituted by Central or State Government (Format is available on DMRC’s website www.delhimetrorail.com).
Candidates falling in the following categories of the disabled may apply for the post :

Job Profile:
The job profile of Senior System Analyst entails looking after diverse works of Signalling/Telecom/Automatic Fare Collection Systems including hardware & software in shift duty including night shift.
The job of Station Controller/Train Operator is inter-changeable in nature as per the requirement of the Corporation and it includes driving the train, looking after the affairs of Metro Stations including CCC, Depot Control Centres, Operation Control Centres etc. in shift duty including night shift. The job requires highest standard of medical fitness, including naked vision of 6/6, the details of which are also available at DMRC’s websitewww.delhimetrorail.com. So, the candidates meeting the required medical standard may only apply. A certificate from the registered medical practitioner may be submitted along with application as per enclosed proforma (ANNEXURE-A).
The job profile of Customer Relations Assistant (CRA) entails interaction with the commuters at Customer Care Centres (CCC) and catering to their needs & problems, looking after the affairs of Metro Stations including operation control centres in shift duty including night shift. Their career progression will be towards Station Controller/Train Operator. The job requires highest standard of medical fitness, including naked vision of 6/6, the details of which are also available at DMRC’s website www.delhimetrorail.com. So, the candidates meeting the required medical standard may only apply. A certificate from the registered medical practitioner may also be submitted along with application as per enclosed proforma (ANNEXURE-A).
The job of Jr.Engineers include maintenance of various Electrical (Lift/Escalators/Power supply, RS maintenance, S&T, stores etc), Electronics (Signaling/Telecom/AFC/E&M/PSI/RS Maintenance, Stores etc), Civil(Works & P Way) & Mechanical systems and train maintenance etc. in shift dutyincluding night shift.
The Job profile of Fire Inspector entails attending to fire/emergency and rescue calls, inspection of fire systems, internal inspection of fire fighting equipment, detection and also systems installed at all stations and depots etc in shift duty including night shift.
The job profile of Office Assistants pertains to HR/Administration Department that entails dealing with various HR activities like Recruitment, training, allowances, increments, pay bills, leave rules, medical attendance & treatment rules, PF, IR, maintenance & processing of employees particulars in SAP/ERP etc.
The Job profile of Maintainer pertains to maintenance of various Maintenance Systems & processes, in connection with operation & maintenance of Metro Trains, and also for installation/ execution of various systems like Lifts, Escalators, Track, Structure, Traction/OHE, E&M, Signalling, Telecom/Automatic Fare Collection, Train Coaches, Stores Depots etc., in shift duty including night shift.
The Job profile of Stores Assistant entails Tendering, composing offers, placing of purchase orders, Opening & Operating of Letters of Credit, Custom Clearance etc.
Selection process: For the post of Sr.System Analyst (post code-01), the selection methodology will comprise three-stage process – Written Test (two papers), Personal Interview followed by Medical examination in Bee-Two category.
For the post of Station Controller/Train Operator (post code-02) and Customer Relations Assistant (post code-03), the selection methodology will comprise four-stage process – Written Test (two papers), Psycho Test & Personal Interview followed by Medical examination in Aye-one category.
For the post of Jr.Engineers (Electrical / Electronics/Mechanical/Civil), (post codes 04,05,06&07) the selection methodology will comprise three-stage process – Written Test (two papers), Personal Interview followed by Medical examination in Aye-one category not below Aye-three.
For the post of Fire Inspector, (post code-08) the selection methodology will comprise three-stage process – Written Test (two papers), Personal Interview followed by Medical examination in Aye-One category & specified physical requirements.
For the post of Office Assistant (post codes 09) & Store Assistant (post code-11) the selection methodology will comprise three-stage process – Written Test (two papers) & Personal Interview/skill test followed by Medical Examination in Cee-One category.
For the post of Maintainer, (post codes 10) the selection methodology will comprise three-stage process – Written Test (one paper), Personal Interview followed by Medical examination in Bee-One category.
Medical Examination: Expenses for the first time medical examination of the candidate will be borne by DMRC. However, in case a candidate seeks extension for joining, then the second time medical examination expenditure for the joining will be borne by the candidate himself/herself.
In case of PH candidates, for post code-11 only, we intend to call candidates in the range of 6 to 8 times the number of vacancies for Interview, after screening of their applications based on final marks obtained in the qualifying 3 years degree course examination. The list of candidates short listed (PH) for Interview will be displayed on DMRC’s website www.delhimetrorail.com , as well as separate call letters will also be issued to them, calling for Interview.
The selection process would judge different facets of knowledge, skills, comprehension, aptitude and physical fitness. Candidates will have to pass through each stage successfully (including Medical examination), before being adjudged as suitable for selection. Candidates, who fail in the prescribed medical test, will not be given any alternative employment and decision of the Corporation is final on this issue. Written Test: For post codes 01, 02, 03,04,05,06,07,08,09 & 11, the written test will consist of two papers (Paper-I and Paper-II, to be held on the same day in the same centre). Paper-I will consist of multiple-choice objective type questions, with provision of negative marking for wrong answers, on General Awareness, English, Logical Ability, Quantitative Aptitude and/or knowledge of the discipline/trade. The Paper-I shall be of 1.5 hours duration.
Paper-II will consist of subjective type questions on Paragraph Writing, Comprehension, Essay and questions on Science & Technology matter, in English Medium to judge the candidate’s comprehension skills & test of English language. The Paper-II shall be of 1.5 hours duration.
Candidates who qualify in Paper-I and rank high on the merit list within the zone of consideration, as decided by the DMRC, will only be evaluated for Paper-II. Successful candidates based on the Written Test (Both Paper-I & Paper-II put together) shall be called for Psycho Test/Personal Interview/Skill Test, at Delhi.
For post code 10, the written test will consist of multiple-choice objective type questions only, on General Awareness, Reasoning, Numerical Ability, English Language and specific ITI trade/discipline of 1.5 hours duration with provision of negative marking for wrong answers.
The candidates (for all category of posts) to be called for Psycho Test/Personal interview and Medical examination at Delhi shall be paid to & fro sleeper class Railway fare for journey by the shortest route between Railway Station nearest to hometown & Delhi. No reimbursement shall be made to the candidates appearing for the written examination.
Character & Antecedents: The success in the examination does not confer any right to appointment unless the corporation is satisfied after such an inquiry, as may be considered necessary, that the candidate having regard to his/her character and antecedents is suitable in all respects for appointment to the service.
Surety Bond: The candidates selected for posts of Sr.System Analyst, Station Controller/Train Operator, Jr.Engineers (Electrical/Electonics/Mechanical/Civil) & Fire Inspector will have to execute a surety bond of Rs. 75,000/- & Cost of training (apprx.Rs.22,000/-) to serve the corporation for a minimum period of three years and also a three months prior notice, will be required before seeking resignation from the corporation.
The candidates selected for posts of Customer Relation Assistant, Office Assistants, Maintainers & Store Assistants will have to execute a surety bond of Rs. 75,000/- & Cost of training (apprx.Rs.15,000/-) to serve the corporation for a minimum period of three years and also a three months prior notice, will be required before seeking resignation from the corporation.
Training & Probation: The selected candidates on appointment will be on Probation for a period of two years (including period of training), where they will undergo intensive training for prescribed duration. The Corporation has the right to enhance or reduce the training period at its discretion for any or all the trainees. During the probation period, the candidates shall be required to pass various examinations. The service of the candidate during probation period can be terminated by the corporation if the performance of candidate is found to be unsatisfactory, in accordance with the terms & conditions of offer of appointment.
Pay & Emoluments: The pay & emoluments for direct recruits shall be as per pay scales under the IDA (Industrial DA) as applicable from time to time and other benefits which include Perks, HRA, Medical benefit, EPF, Gratuity, and Insurance etc. as per extant rules of the Corporation.
Concessions & Relaxations:
Upper age relaxation by 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates (of Central List) (Formats are available on DMRC’s website), for reserved posts.
Upper age relaxations by 5 years for candidates belonging to Jammu & Kashmir who had ordinarily been domiciled in that state between 01.01.1980 and 31.12.1989.
Upper age relaxation by 10 years for Physically Challenged Unreserved candidates, 15 years for physically challenged SC/ST candidates and 13 years for Physically Challenged OBC candidates (of central list) for post code-11 only.
Upper age for Ex-servicemen will be length of service + 3 years, subject to a maximum age of 40 years. The Ex-servicemen are those who are covered in the definition, as per extant rules of Ministry of Defence/Govt of India.
Existing DMRC employees who have completed at least 3 years continuous service in DMRC as on 1.7.2010, will be given age relaxation to the extent of 3 years as on the date of reckoning of age limit for i.e. 1.7.2010.
General: Most Important
1. While applying for these posts, the applicant should ensure that he / she fulfils the eligibility and other norms mentioned above as on the specified dates and that the particulars furnished by him / her are correct in all respects. In case it is detected at any stage of recruitment that a candidate does not fulfill the eligibility norms and / or that he / she has furnished any incorrect / false information or has suppressed any material fact(s), his /her candidature will stand cancelled. if any of these shortcomings is / are detected even after appointment, his / her services are liable to be terminated.
2. The validity of the Selection Panel is for two years from the date of its operation.
3. The selection of candidate by DMRC does not confer any right to the candidate for appointment.
4. The written test will be held at Delhi. However, DMRC reserves the right to allot any test center outside Delhi without assigning any reason.
5. Candidates employed in Govt. Dept./ PSU/ Autonomous Body must produce NOC from the present employer on the date of Psycho Test/Interview.
6. Eligible and interested candidates (including Ex-Serviceman and J & K domicile) can download the application form through DMRC’s website as per the instructions given therein. The printout of the filled up application form should be sent to the following address by enclosing a non-refundable crossed Demand Draft for Rs.300/- for General & OBC candidates and for Rs.50/- for SC, ST & PWD candidates (for processing cost only) drawn only on State Bank of India in favour of DELHI METRO RAIL CORPORATION LIMITED, payable at Service Branch, New Delhi (Code No-7687)indicating on the reverse of the DD, their name & address, e-mail, telephone no. if any, latest by 23.08.2010hrough ordinary post addressed to“DMRC Ltd., Post Bag No- 9”, Lodhi Road, New Delhi-110003. The filled up application should be sent in the envelope super scribing on it prominently – “Post Code, Name of Post” Demand Drafts payable at locations other than Delhi / New Delhi will not be accepted. MO/PO or any other mode of payment is not acceptable. Candidates are advised to check the details of Demand Draft carefully, before enclosing it with the application Form.
7. In case a candidate wishes to apply for more than one post, she/he may fill separate applications for each post in separate envelop along with the requisite fee for each post as specified in para-6. All applications should be completed in all respect, as each will bear a separate registration number.
8. Attach attested copies of Community/Caste Certificate in Central formats (SC/ST/OBC), Disabled Certificate for PWD, for seeking age relaxation etc. with the application. (All these formats are available on DMRC’s website www.delhimetrorail.com. No other format will be acceptable)
9. A candidate who claims to belong to one of the Other Backward Classes has to submit in support of his claim an attested copy of a certificate in the prescribed form issued by the competent authority specified by the Central Govt. in their O.M. No. 36012/22/93-Estt. (SC) dated 22.10.93. OBC certificate should be issued within one year of the closing date of 23.08.2010.
10. Attach proof of passing/mark sheet/experience of the eligible technical/educational qualification (Degree/ Diploma/ITI) with the application form.
11. Candidates should retain a photocopy of their demand draft and application form for future reference. They should also keep sufficient numbers of same Photograph in reserve for future use, which they are using in the application form.
12. Incomplete applications or applications received after the due date will be summarily rejected.
13. Request for change of mailing address or e-mail address will not be entertained under any circumstances.
14. Court of jurisdiction for any dispute will be at Delhi.
15. DMRC reserves the right to fix the minimum standard/qualifying marks for each component of selection for all posts.
16. DMRC shall not be responsible for any postal delay/ loss in transit. No request in this regard will be entertained.
17. Candidates must remain in constant touch with DMRC’s website www.delhimetrorail.com for information regarding dates of written test, result of written test, schedule of Psycho Test/Interview/Skill Test, standards of Vision for Medical test etc. The eligible candidates, whose applications are available on the Master list & do not receive the admit card for written examination in time, may check the status of their application and also download the admit card through DMRC’s website as per schedule & instructions notified on DMRC’s website in advance.
18. DMRC is not responsible for any printing error that might have inadvertently crept in.
19. Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidate.
20. Bringing mobile phone/Communication device in the examination Hall will be deemed GUILTY OF MISCONDUCT & suitable actions including immediate expulsion of candidate from the examination hall will be taken.
N.B.: Candidates should refer to advertisement given in the Employment News or on DMRC’s website only for the purpose of applying for the jobs. DMRC has not authorized any other agency/vendor to publish the instant ad and application form. If any wrong/insufficient entries are made by the candidates in their application form on account of mistakes in the guidelines or in printing of application forms by private agencies, their applications shall be rejected and the DMRC will not be responsible for such rejection. No representation against such rejection will be entertained. In case of any discrepancy between various editions of Employment News, English Edition will prevail.
