Pay Structure
| Pay Band of Rs. 37,400-67,000(PB-4) with Grade Pay of Rs.10,000/-per month. Starting pay in the Pay Band will be Rs.43,000/-

Qualification
| Master’s degree with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade.

Experience
| At least 15 years of experience as Lecturer/Assistant Professor/ Reader, of which 8 years as Assistant Professor in the scale of Rs.12,000-18,300 (pre revised) or above with experience in Educational Administration or comparable experience in institutions of Higher Education or Research Establishments. OR 15 years of experience at an Administrative/Executive level in an University/R&D Institution/Government service/ Autonomous body fully funded by the Government, of which 8 years as Deputy Registrar in the scale of Rs.12,000-18,300 (pre revised) or an equivalent post in the scale of Rs.12,000-16,500/14,300-18,300 (pre-revised) with sound knowledge of Central Government Rules relating to Academic and General Administration, Establishment & Service conditions, Financial Rules, Legal matters and campus administration.

Desirable
| Considerable experience in computerised administration with innovation in financial and personnel management and capacity to lead administration in a large residential Higher Education Institution/R&D Institution.

| The upper age limit is 50 years as on 01-07-2010.

Job Description
| As Head of the Administration, has to provide an enabling and facilitating role to promote scientific research and teaching at the highest level and shall be i) in overall charge of Finance, Stores and Purchase, Estates and all aspects of Administration of the Institute and directly responsible to the Director; ii) the Ex-officio Secretary of the Board of Governors, Finance Committee and the Senate; iii) the custodian of records, funds of the Institute and such other property of the Institute as the Board of Governors may assign to him; and iv) having such other duties as may be specified in the Regulations and Bye-laws of the Institute or as may be required by the Director.

General Information:
- The candidate must be a citizen of India.
- IISER-TVM is functioning at the Transit Campus in the College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram and will move to its permanent campus at Vithura at the foothills of Ponmudi Range 45 Km. from Thiruvananthapuram City, and the post is tenable accordingly.
- The post carries pay and allowances and other benefits like leave, LTC etc. as admissible to Central Government employees posted at Thiruvananthapuram.
- Person appointed against the above post, will be covered under the New Pension Scheme as notified/amended by the Government of India.
- It is expected that the incumbent Registrar stays in an accommodation provided by the Institute while the Institute functions in the transit campus and it is compulsory for him/her to reside in the quarters at the Vithura campus when the Institute moves to the permanent campus.
- Persons working under the Central/State Govt./Public Sector Undertakings/ Central Autonomous Bodies shall submit their applications through proper channel. They may, however, send an advance copy of the application along with enclosures as required. Those who are unable to forward their application through proper channel may submit an NOC from their employer at the time of interview.
- In the case of candidates who apply for appointment on deputation on Foreign Service terms, their Organisations should be willing to release them on such terms.

Merely fulfilling the requirements in the advertisement will not automatically entitle any candidate to be called for interview. The decision of the Institute in all matters will be final. - Relaxations and concessions will be in accordance with Government of India Rules. Minimum requirement of qualifications and/or experience may also be relaxed in respect of outstanding candidates and/or in the case of persons already holding analogous positions in a Central Technical Institute/ University/research institution.
- A one page write-up of the applicant’s appreciation of the role and functions of the post to which applying, his/her perception of contributing to the development of the Institute and how he/she is considered to be suited for the post, should accompany every application.
